What defines the Germany → Denmark corridor

We go up through Jutland, crossing at Flensburg and then following the E45. For full loads we do not use the Baltic ferries: the land route stays more reliable on transit time and avoids booking risk in high season.

Since 2025 Denmark charges a satellite-based heavy-goods distance tax (KmToll) replacing the former vignette. It comes on top of the German Maut (€0.187 to €0.473 per km) on the German leg. Both are built into the quote.

The dominant flows are German used vehicles heading to Danish importers and traders — a strongly electric market — and end-of-lease returns. Allow 1 to 2 working days in transit after loading.

What sets the price of car transport Germany → Denmark

Over 700 to 900 km — depending on whether you deliver in Jutland or in Copenhagen — a per-kilometre price misleads even more than on a long haul: the fixed part of a trip — the approach, loading vehicle by vehicle, CMR condition reports, the driver’s hours — is not diluted by distance. Two systems follow one another, the German Maut then the Danish distance charge, each on its own ground. A price per car exists only once the whole trip, repositioning included, is divided by the units loaded.

The truck holds 10 slots, but height allocates them: above roughly 1,750 mm a vehicle no longer reaches the upper deck and takes a lower place. Hence the gap between two German batches of ten cars: ten Polos fit a single truck, while a load of Passat Variants — 1 slot in 6 — is full before the seventh vehicle. The number of cars tells you nothing while the models are unknown.

One real case beats a list. Five Passat Variants and two ID.4s on the sheet: the truck is full before the seventh vehicle. The customer pushed two estates to the next departure, added two Polos for the upper deck, then moved collection by three days to catch a trip already running. The cost per car fell for the whole load, and none of it would have worked without the models given with the request for a quote.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about transport Germany - Denmark

Expect around 8h00 of driving on average. The overall time between pick-up and delivery depends on loading points, truck fill rate and delivery windows.

The cost of a trip is the truck, the driver, the diesel and the tolls (around 700 km on this route) and it barely changes with what is loaded. The price per car is that cost divided by the number of vehicles on board. Our carrier is worth 10 slots and height decides, not length: a Polo takes 1 slot in 10, an ID.4 1 in 7, an ID.Buzz 1 in 4. A single car on a dedicated truck is therefore the most expensive case; the same car in a full load costs a fraction. To bring the price down: consolidate several vehicles, mix the sizes, stay flexible on the date, and give the models rather than just the count. Firm quote within 2 working hours, no commitment.

Within the EU, no customs formalities. Prepare the registration certificate, a proof of ownership or invoice if applicable, and the contact details for pick-up and delivery. A CMR consignment note and a condition report are issued at collection.

You keep a responsive contact throughout the transport and an update on your vehicle’s position until delivery.

Yes. Your vehicles are covered by our insurance throughout the transport; the coverage details are specified in your quote.
