Germany → Spain: a long distance via France
This is one of our longest routes. The route runs down through France, generally avoiding Switzerland. The German Maut (€0.187 to €0.473 per km depending on emission class and axle count) applies on the first leg, then French and Spanish tolls — all built into the quote.
Flows run mainly from German remarketing platforms and auctions into the Spanish networks, with used vehicles coming back. Allow 3 working days in transit from the Rhineland to Madrid or the Mediterranean coast.
Contractual carrier, not a broker
47 trucks run on our planning every day with our certified partners: on every consignment HTL remains the contractual carrier, liable under CMR, including when a partner drives. Five of them are car carriers of our own, owned since 2014. A broker introduces you, hands the transport to a third party and steps out of the contract — you no longer know who answers.

Car transport Germany → Spain: why the price covers the whole trip
Running from the Rhineland down to Spain means crossing three countries and tying up a truck for three working days, driving and rest periods included. No per-kilometre rate survives that: German, French and Spanish kilometres are not paid for in the same way. The German Maut applies at €0.187 to €0.473 per km depending on emission class and axle count, then come concession tolls built on an entirely different logic. We cost the trip, not the distance.
Over 1,800 km an empty slot is paid for three days running — filling the deck matters far more here than on a short hop. The truck offers 9 slots, and the limit is vertical: from about 1,750 mm upward the upper deck is closed, so the vehicle loads on the lower one and blocks the slot above it. An ID.Buzz sits right above that line — 1 slot in 4 — where a Polo counts 1 in 9.
The lever that counts here is not the date but the return load. A Spanish trip only balances if the truck goes back loaded, and that second half is built well in advance. So tell us at enquiry stage what you have to move north yourself, or how often you ship on this corridor: a regular flow can be planned in both directions. Two route facts complete the picture: we go down through France, generally avoiding Switzerland, and the transit time quoted stays indicative, confirmed with the quote.

A single car on a dedicated truck is therefore the most expensive case; the same car on a fully booked truck costs a fraction. To bring the price down: consolidate several vehicles, mix the sizes, stay flexible on the date, and give the models rather than just the count. Reply within 2 working hours, firm price confirmed after checking addresses and date, no commitment.
Within the EU, no customs formalities. Prepare the registration certificate, a proof of ownership or invoice if applicable, and the contact details for pick-up and delivery. A CMR consignment note and a condition report are issued at collection.
Yes. At loading you receive a written confirmation and a tracking link for your shipment, with no account and no password: it places the truck within an approach zone of about 10 km and shows the kilometres left. If you would rather just ask, your contact will give you the position and the estimated delivery.

Not ourselves: your vehicles travel on the carrier, without a single kilometre added to the odometer. We still take driven-delivery requests: a partner provider then drives the vehicle. Just mention it in your quote request or message.
