What defines the Belgium → Germany corridor
This is one of our shortest and most frequent runs: Antwerp, Brussels and Liège are less than three hours from our Düsseldorf base. Many loads leave in the morning and are delivered the same day.
Antwerp being one of Europe’s largest vehicle ports, much of the flow comes from terminals and port compounds to German dealerships and platforms. We load at compounds as readily as at dealerships.
On this route the German Maut applies from the border (€0.187 to €0.473 per km) and Belgium levies its own heavy-goods distance charge. Both are built into the quote. Allow 1 working day in transit after loading.
Contractual carrier, not a broker
47 trucks run on our planning every day with our certified partners: on every consignment HTL remains the contractual carrier, liable under CMR, including when a partner drives. Five of them are car carriers of our own, owned since 2014. A broker introduces you, hands the transport to a third party and steps out of the contract — you no longer know who answers.

Price of car transport Belgium → Germany: why two trucks do not cost the same
Here even the kilometre has no single price. The German Maut runs from €0.187 to €0.473 per km depending on emission class and axle count, and Belgium levies its own distance charge, region by region. Two trucks covering the same road therefore do not pay the same amount. We price by the cost of a complete trip, waiting time at the compound included, and only then spread it over the vehicles actually loaded.
On this route the loading list is known model by model before the truck even arrives — an advantage, provided you use it. The car carrier has 9 slots, the upper deck stops at around 1,750 mm of height, and it is the vehicle’s overall size — height, length and width — that decides, never the headcount alone. A Polo takes 1 slot in 9, an ID.4 1 in 7, a Passat Variant 1 in 6, an ID.Buzz 1 in 4 — a quarter of the truck for one vehicle. A quote built on a headcount therefore tells you nothing at all.
Two habits move the figure. Send the exact list with your enquiry: on a compound collection it already exists, it only has to travel with the request. And do not pin the day down: the Germany → Belgium leg far more often runs with room to spare, and a there-and-back prices better than an isolated shipment. Within the EU, no customs formalities. Prepare the registration certificate, a proof of ownership or invoice if applicable, and the contact details for pick-up and delivery. A CMR consignment note and a condition report are issued at collection.
Yes. At loading you receive a written confirmation and a tracking link for your shipment, with no account and no password: it places the truck within an approach zone of about 10 km and shows the kilometres left. If you would rather just ask, your contact will give you the position and the estimated delivery.
Yes. Your vehicles are covered by our insurance throughout the transport; the coverage details are specified in your quote.
Not ourselves: your vehicles travel on the carrier, without a single kilometre added to the odometer. We still take driven-delivery requests: a partner provider then drives the vehicle. Just mention it in your quote request or message.
