Short distance, high frequency
France–Belgium is a short corridor — often under 400 km — that we run very regularly, especially combined with German and Dutch flows. A load can frequently be delivered the next day.
Volumes come mostly from dealerships and rental companies rebalancing their fleet between French and Belgian branches, and from traders buying on Belgian trade platforms.
A regulatory note: on short routes the cabotage question comes up quickly. We comply with the rule of 3 operations maximum within 7 days of an international unloading — that is our problem, not yours, but it sometimes explains why a proposed date differs from the one requested.
Contractual carrier, not a broker
47 trucks run on our planning every day with our certified partners: on every consignment HTL remains the contractual carrier, liable under CMR, including when a partner drives. Five of them are car carriers of our own, owned since 2014. A broker introduces you, hands the transport to a third party and steps out of the contract — you no longer know who answers.

Price of car transport France → Belgium: what the kilometre hides
On a 350 km corridor you are not paying for distance but for the position the truck is left in afterwards. An international unloading in Belgium opens only a narrow cabotage window — three operations within seven days — so whatever the truck may pick up next is counted in advance. A per-kilometre rate ignores that constraint completely, even though it governs how much of the trip still has to be recovered from your vehicles.
Recovery is counted in slots: nine per car carrier, allocated by height. Belgian flows lean heavily on rental and leasing fleets — saloons and compacts, a format that fills the upper deck well. A Polo takes 1 slot in 9, a Golf 1 in 9, an ID.4 1 in 7, an ID.Buzz 1 in 4: above roughly 1,750 mm a vehicle can no longer go upstairs, and it then weighs a quarter of the truck.
Two levers really matter here. First, build a batch: the run is too short to absorb a half-empty truck, and one car alone leaves a single customer carrying the whole trip. Second, allow a date window, because the cabotage rule sometimes shifts the cheapest departure by a day or two. On top sit French motorway tolls at class 4 and the Belgian distance charge, levied by each region crossed — neither charge doubles when you load two cars instead of one.

Within the EU, no customs formalities. Prepare the registration certificate, a proof of ownership or invoice if applicable, and the contact details for pick-up and delivery. A CMR consignment note and a condition report are issued at collection.
Yes. At loading you receive a written confirmation and a tracking link for your shipment, with no account and no password: it places the truck within an approach zone of about 10 km and shows the kilometres left. If you would rather just ask, your contact will give you the position and the estimated delivery.
Yes. Your vehicles are covered by our insurance throughout the transport; the coverage details are specified in your quote.
Not ourselves: your vehicles travel on the carrier, without a single kilometre added to the odometer. We still take driven-delivery requests: a partner provider then drives the vehicle. Just mention it in your quote request or message.
